From a brief trip on March 10, 2004, to the backroads near the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge near Seneca Falls, New York, USA. Approximately 100,000(?) Snow Geese (Chen caerulescens), Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) and Tundra swans (Cygnus columbianus) were passing through on their yearly migration to northern Canada and the Arctic. The camerawork is pretty awful, but hopefully the fantastic subject matter makes up for that somewhat. :-)
Most of the footage was shot on the edge of a flooded potato field just north of Route 31.
This was my first video project and an introduction to Apple's iMovie. A Canon Optura 10 MiniDV camcorder captured the footage. For stills, I used USGS maps and aerial photos, with species identification drawings from Environment Canada.
